Paradigm Peptides is closed, and its owner is serving a federal prison sentence. On July 30, 2026, Matthew Kawa was sentenced to 70 months and Jennifer Stechkober to 16 months for selling unapproved drugs (US Attorney's Office). A site at a similar domain says it isn't connected. Of the eight vendors we review, Peptide Plugs (8.1/10) and NextGenPeps (8.0) score highest on our transparency method.
Notice: Research peptides are sold for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not FDA-approved, not for human or animal consumption, and this page is not medical advice.
What the federal case found
According to the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Indiana (July 30, 2026):
- The charges: both defendants pleaded guilty to introducing unapproved new drugs into interstate commerce with intent to defraud or mislead. Kawa also faced an illegal importation charge.
- The sentences: 70 months for Kawa and 16 months for Stechkober, each followed by a year of supervised release, plus $78,317.52 in restitution and a $5 million money judgment against Kawa.
- The scale: more than 54,000 customers in all 50 states and over 80 countries between 2019 and 2024.
- The false claims: Paradigm said its products were "licensed and registered with the FDA," made in its own US laboratories and "tested ... to ensure the highest quality." Prosecutors said the products were imported from Asia, including China and India, and that testing found many of its SARMs were actually testosterone.
CBS News also covered the sentencing. Our shutdown timeline places it among the other 2025-2026 closures.
Watch for look-alike sites
A site at paradigm-peptide.com sells research peptides under a similar name. On September 27, 2026 it posted a notice saying it has "no affiliation with paradigm peptides LLC, paradigmpeptides.com or paradigmpeptidesllc.com." We haven't reviewed it. Treat any site using the Paradigm name as a new, unknown vendor.
The lesson from this case: verify testing yourself
Paradigm's marketing claimed US manufacturing and quality testing that didn't exist. A certificate is only evidence if you can confirm it:
- The COA names a real lab, a lot and a date, and the lot matches your vial.
- The lab confirms it. Use the lab's own lookup, such as Freedom Diagnostics' accession search or Janoshik's verification.
- Independent data exists. Finnrick tests samples customers buy themselves.
- "FDA registered" is a red flag, not a reassurance, on a research chemical site. FDA doesn't approve or register research peptides for sale.
Our COA checklist walks through each field, and the vendor testing tracker shows which vendors meet each test.
