The biggest open question in September 2026 is what FDA does with its advisory committee's July votes to recommend six peptides, including BPC-157, for pharmacy compounding. As of September 26, 2026, we found no FDA decision or proposed rule. Meanwhile, enforcement against "research use only" sellers has continued, with five warning letters dated August 24 posted in early September. The log below lists every event we could verify, newest first.
Notice: Research peptides are sold for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not FDA-approved, not for human or animal consumption, and this page is not medical advice.
We update this page monthly. For the analysis behind these events, see FDA peptide regulation 2026. For vendor closures in more detail, see peptide vendors that shut down.
What to watch next
- FDA action on the PCAC votes. Adding a peptide to the 503A bulks list requires notice-and-comment rulemaking, and there's "no fixed statutory deadline," per Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney (August 18, 2026). A September 17 Frier Levitt update said "additional FDA action is required."
- A second PCAC meeting before the end of February 2027 on five more substances: LL-37 (cathelicidin), GHK-Cu, dihexa acetate, Melanotan II and PEG-MGF (Restore Health Consulting).
- More warning letters. FDA issued peptide-seller letters in March, June and August 2026.
September 2026
September 25, 2026: Import Alert 66-41 republished. FDA's import alert list shows a new publish date for Import Alert 66-41, which allows detention without physical examination of unapproved new drugs promoted in the US. See peptide shipping and customs.
September 21, 2026: GLP-1 ingredient import alert revised. Import Alert 66-80, covering GLP-1 bulk drug substances, shows a September 21 revision. The alert states that of 48 GLP-1 API sites FDA evaluated, 21% were noncompliant.
September 15, 2026: Eternal Peptides ends online ordering. A September 11 report said the vendor's banner announced ordering would end September 15 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. The report comes from another vendor's site; we couldn't view the original banner.
About September 1, 2026: August letters posted. FDA's five August 24 warning letters appeared on its public index around September 1 (JackedForums).
August 2026
August 24, 2026: Five peptide sellers warned. FDA sent letters to Peptide Partners, Royal Peptides, NuScience Peptides, Peak Performance Peptides and TXP Innovations, dba Tex Peptides. The Peptide Partners letter cites health claims, a "Reconstitution Solution" and code names like "GLP-3 Reta" as evidence of human-use intent.
July 2026
July 30, 2026: Paradigm Peptides owner sentenced. Matthew Kawa received 70 months and Jennifer Stechkober 16 months after pleading guilty to introducing unapproved new drugs into interstate commerce with intent to defraud and mislead (US Attorney, N.D. Indiana).
July 23-24, 2026: PCAC votes on seven peptides. FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviewed seven peptides for the 503A bulks list. FDA staff recommended against all seven, per Frier Levitt. Reported votes (RAPS; Restore Health Consulting):
| Peptide | Yes | No | Abstain | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BPC-157 | 8 | 6 | 1 | Recommended |
| KPV | 8 | 6 | 1 | Recommended |
| TB-500 | 8 | 6 | 1 | Recommended |
| Semax | 8 | 5 | 1 | Recommended |
| MOTS-c | 7 | 5 | 2 | Recommended |
| Epitalon | 7 | 4 | 1 | Recommended |
| Emideltide (DSIP) | 6 | 7 | 1 | Not recommended |
The votes are non-binding and concern licensed pharmacy compounding, not research-use-only sales.
June 2026
June 17, 2026: Wholesale Peptide warned. FDA's letter to the Brooksville, FL seller cites health claims on its website.
May 26, 2026: Alabama Board of Medical Examiners notice (official notice). The board told physicians not to compound, administer or dispense "non-FDA approved or research grade peptide" to patients (McDermott Will & Schulte).
April 2026
April 30, 2026: Proposed 503B exclusion for GLP-1s. FDA proposed excluding semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide from the 503B bulks list, with comments through June 29 (Pharmacy Times).
April 22, 2026: Category 2 page updated. FDA's Category 2 list moved BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, GHK-Cu, MOTs-C and others to a table of nominations "withdrawn by the nominators." GHRP-2, GHRP-6, ipamorelin acetate and kisspeptin-10 remained in Category 2.
April 15-16, 2026: FDA removes 12 peptides from Category 2 and schedules PCAC meetings. FDA announced the removal on April 15 because the nominations were withdrawn (Orrick), and published a Federal Register notice on April 16 setting the July meeting.
April 1, 2026: About 5,000 peptide parcels seized in Cincinnati. CBP officers intercepted roughly 5,000 unmanifested shipments of unapproved peptides from China, found in more than 300 master cartons (WHIO; CBP).
March 2026
March 31, 2026: Gram Peptides and others warned. Letters to Gram Peptides, Prime Sciences and other sellers, published April 7, state that "Research Use Only" labeling doesn't override website evidence of human use (ChemVerify summary).
March 6, 2026: Peptide Sciences shuts down. The vendor posted that it would "voluntarily shut down operations" (PeptideLaws.com).
February 2026
February 27, 2026: Kennedy signals Category 2 changes. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on The Joe Rogan Experience that the administration would make peptides more accessible through lawful compounding (Orrick). Pharmacy Times reported the announcement as about 14 of 19 Category 2 peptides moving toward Category 1, and noted that this concerns compounding, not FDA approval.
February 6, 2026: FDA targets non-approved GLP-1 compounding. FDA announced it would restrict GLP-1 ingredients used in mass-marketed non-approved compounded drugs.
January 2026
January 27, 2026: Science.bio closes. Its website still shows a notice that it has decided to "permanently close and discontinue the sale of research products."

How this affects the vendors we list
All eight vendors on our list were operating as of our September 26-28, 2026 checks. None received a 2025-2026 warning letter in the log above. Swiss Chems has a December 10, 2024 letter, disclosed on its review. Our order is an editors' ranking, not a sort by score (method). Terms used here are defined in the research peptide glossary.
