All seven vendors we compared in September list tesamorelin, and Peptide Plugs documents its testing best: its product page shows a September 2026 test with a lot, a Freedom Diagnostics accession code, purity and measured content. PSPeptides and Alpha Pro Peptides also post tesamorelin certificates with lot numbers. Tesamorelin is the active ingredient of an FDA-approved drug, Egrifta, but the research-labeled vials below are not that product.
Notice: Research peptides are sold for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not FDA-approved, not for human or animal consumption, and this page is not medical advice.
Our criterion: a tesamorelin-specific COA with a named lab and lot number beats a generic "third-party tested" claim. We don't test products; we check what each vendor publishes.
Regulatory status of tesamorelin
- FDA: tesamorelin is the active ingredient of Egrifta. FDA approved it under NDA 022505 on November 10, 2010, for Theratechnologies, as a prescription drug for a specific indication in people with HIV (FDA approval letter). That approval covers Egrifta as made and labeled under the application. Research-labeled tesamorelin from peptide vendors is not Egrifta and isn't an approved drug.
- Compounding lists: tesamorelin doesn't appear in either table on FDA's Category 2 compounding page (content current as of April 22, 2026), and it wasn't among the peptides FDA's advisory committee reviewed in July 2026. See our regulatory news tracker.
- WADA: the 2026 Prohibited List names tesamorelin under S2.2.4, "growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) and its analogues," prohibited at all times (2026 list text).
- DEA: not on DEA's controlled substances list dated August 27, 2026.

Tesamorelin by vendor
Single-vial prices shown on September 26, 2026, including any displayed sale price. $/mg is price divided by labeled mg. Vendors appear in our editors' order, which isn't sorted by score.

Notes on the table:
- American Peptides: the product page lists 10 mg at $120; we couldn't confirm the 20 mg price. Lot-matched COAs are posted for both sizes, with no lab named on the page. It also sells a tesamorelin + ipamorelin vial.
- NextGenPeps: the product page showed $74, down from $92. Its COA library has one BioRegen report from February 2026.
- PSPeptides: the product page showed 5 mg at $59.99. It listed the 10 mg at $89.99 while the shop grid showed a range up to $99.99, so we couldn't confirm the 10 mg price. The 10 mg certificate reports 99.92% purity and 9.88 mg measured, by HPLC with mass spectrometry.
- Ascension Peptides: the product page lists Kovera Labs (June 2026) and MZ Biolabs (February 2026) batches, with no purity shown on the page (checked September 26, 2026). Regular price is $89.99.
- Peptide Plugs: the product page reports 99.9% purity and 11.88 mg measured, 18.8% over label; its COA page dates that test September 16, 2026. The $36 advertised price is for 10 or more vials. It also sells a tesamorelin + ipamorelin blend.
- Swiss Chems: sells 2 mg vials. The product page showed an out-of-stock notice for the single vial. Its test results page lists a September 13, 2026 tesamorelin report (reference 2607-ED-TE) without naming the lab.
- Alpha Pro Peptides: its testing page lists 10 mg lot AP-TSM10-0426 (May 18, 2026: 99.78%, 10.52 mg) and 20 mg lot AP-6999761 (August 8, 2026: 99.19%, 20.05 mg). We couldn't open either PDF to confirm the lab.
- Licensed Peptides (added to our list September 28, 2026; not in the table): lists tesamorelin 10mg from $130.99; full prices need a free account (shop, checked September 28, 2026). We didn't confirm a tesamorelin-specific report. Review
What is tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), which is how WADA's list classifies it. Its approved form is the drug Egrifta, whose FDA approval letter is public. Anything sold as a research reagent is a separate, unapproved product with no connection to that application.
How to check a tesamorelin COA
- Match the lot and the size. Vial sizes here run from 2 mg to 20 mg, so a certificate for one size doesn't cover another.
- Read the lab name on the PDF. Swiss Chems' results page and American Peptides' COA pages don't show it.
- Check identity by mass spectrometry. Tesamorelin is a long peptide, and HPLC purity alone doesn't confirm the sequence.
- Compare measured content to the label before concentration math.

Independent test data
None of the seven vendors we compared had independent Finnrick results for tesamorelin on September 26, 2026. Licensed Peptides, which we added on September 28, 2026, has no Finnrick profile. Finnrick lists ten tests for Swiss Chems, covering BPC-157, ipamorelin and CJC-1295 only, and the other six vendors we compared have no Finnrick tests. Every certificate above was commissioned by the vendor, which chooses the sample it sends. More on community testing: what is Finnrick?

Bottom line
For tesamorelin, Peptide Plugs has the newest and most checkable documentation. Alpha Pro Peptides has the lowest price per mg on its 20 mg vial and posts lots, but we couldn't confirm its lab. PSPeptides names its lab, though its blog publishes human dosing guides, which we count against it. NextGenPeps' only certificate is from February 2026, and Swiss Chems and American Peptides don't show the lab.
