Five of our listed vendors sell 5-Amino-1MQ for laboratory research, and Peptide Plugs documents it best and charges the least per mg: its 10 mg vial was $30 ($3.00/mg) and its 50 mg vial $90 ($1.80/mg) on October 7, 2026, each with a Freedom Diagnostics certificate and an accession code you can check at the lab. Ascension Peptides and Alpha Pro Peptides also post 5-Amino-1MQ certificates that name the lab and the batch. 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule, not a peptide, and it isn't FDA-approved.

Notice: Research peptides are sold for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not FDA-approved, not for human or animal consumption, and this page is not medical advice.

Our criterion: a 5-Amino-1MQ-specific COA with a named lab and lot number beats a generic "third-party tested" claim. We don't test products; we check what each vendor publishes.

What is 5-Amino-1MQ?

5-Amino-1MQ is short for 5-amino-1-methylquinolinium. It is a small molecule, not a peptide: there are no amino acids in it. Sigma-Aldrich sells the iodide salt as a reference chemical (formula C10H11N2·I, CAS 42464-96-0) and describes it as a "selective nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) inhibitor." It was developed in academic work on membrane-permeable methylquinolinium NNMT inhibitors, published in Biochemical Pharmacology in 2018. That research is in cells and mice. It doesn't establish effects in people.

Peptide vendors stock it alongside peptides, so it shows up in peptide searches. The quality checks are the same: identity, purity and measured content.

Notes on the table:

  • NextGenPeps: the product page has a "View COA" button but no lab or lot in the page text. Its COA library has one 5-Amino-1MQ entry: BioRegen, April 20, 2026, 99.48% purity, with no lot listed.
  • Ascension Peptides: the product page lists three batches with named labs: Kovera Labs (May 2026) and MZ Biolabs (August 2025 and February 2026). The Kovera certificate reports 99.861% purity by HPLC and 12.63 mg measured against a 10 mg label. It prints the formula "C12H13N5O" and CAS 6608-23-5, which don't match Sigma-Aldrich's listing for 5-amino-1-methylquinolinium. Ask the vendor or the lab to explain before relying on it. Code AFFILIATE50OFF takes 50% off a first order (details); we may earn a commission.
  • Peptide Plugs: the 10 mg page shows 99.82% purity, 11.04 mg measured and accession code Pept2607140506; the panel for that lot shows 4 of 5 tests. The 50 mg page shows 99.93% purity, 51.98 mg measured and accession code Pept2608260739. Both codes can be checked on Freedom Diagnostics' lookup. The lower advertised prices are multi-vial tiers.
  • Licensed Peptides: price from our October 7 store check; full prices need a free account. Our review found lot V260123-1 cited on reports for both 5-Amino-1MQ and a different product, so we couldn't confirm which batch the report covers. Code Affiliate5 takes 5% off (details); we may earn a commission.
  • Alpha Pro Peptides: the product page doesn't name the lab, but the 10 mg certificate is from Freedom Diagnostics: 99.48% purity by HPLC with LC-MS, identity confirmed, 11.86 mg measured. The page description mentions a "2mg" format, which conflicts with the 10 mg label. Its testing page also lists a 50 mg certificate (August 20, 2026, 45.42 mg measured), but we didn't confirm a 50 mg price.
  • Not stocked: PSPeptides didn't list 5-Amino-1MQ on October 7, 2026. We didn't check American Peptides or Swiss Chems for it.

How to check a 5-Amino-1MQ COA

  1. Confirm identity by mass spectrometry. A small molecule should match its expected mass and formula. A certificate that prints a different formula needs an explanation.
  2. Match the lot and the size. Peptide Plugs posts separate certificates for 10 mg and 50 mg; Alpha Pro's 50 mg certificate doesn't show purity in its testing table.
  3. Compare measured content to the label. Ascension's certificate reports about 26% more than labeled, Alpha Pro's about 19% and Peptide Plugs' 10 mg lot about 10%.
  4. Verify with the lab where it offers a lookup, such as Freedom Diagnostics' accession search.

Independent test data

We found no independent 5-Amino-1MQ results for these vendors. Finnrick showed no published tests for Peptide Plugs on October 7, 2026, and at our September 26 check none of the other listed vendors except Swiss Chems had Finnrick tests. Every certificate above was commissioned by the vendor, which chooses the sample it sends. More: what is Finnrick? and our vendor testing tracker.

In our editors' order. Each review covers the vendor's policies, red flags and full testing record.

Bottom line

For 5-Amino-1MQ, Peptide Plugs has both the clearest documentation and the lowest price per mg. Alpha Pro Peptides names Freedom Diagnostics on a lot-matched certificate. Ascension Peptides names its labs, but its newest certificate prints a formula that doesn't match the compound, so ask before relying on it. NextGenPeps shows no lot, and Licensed Peptides' lot numbers need confirming. All codes are on our coupon codes page.
