American Peptides and Alpha Pro Peptides are 0.1 apart on our transparency method (7.6 vs 7.5). Both domains were registered in February 2026, and neither has independent test data. American Peptides has the more direct COA tool, a lookup by vial lot number, and publishes more about its business. Alpha Pro Peptides has the better lab trail: its certificates come from Freedom Diagnostics, and an independent reviewer matched 35 of them to lab-hosted copies. It also lists measured net content for every report. American Peptides is #1 and Alpha Pro #8 in our editors' order, which isn't sorted by score.
Notice: Research peptides are sold for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not FDA-approved, not for human or animal consumption, and this page is not medical advice. This comparison covers supplier transparency only, based on public documentation. We didn't purchase or test products.

COAs: lookup vs lab trail
Each vendor is strong in a different place.
American Peptides lets you type the lot number from a vial into its verify page and pull up that lot's certificate. It had 126 lot-matched certificates on file, and its COA page keeps older lots online. The weak spot is the lab: the homepage says Bioviridian verifies every batch, but the COA page and lookup don't name a lab, and the PDFs we opened weren't machine-readable.
Alpha Pro Peptides' testing page is a table with a lot ID, report date, purity and measured net content for each certificate. Net content tells you how much compound is in the vial, and few vendors show it in a table. The certificate we opened came from Freedom Diagnostics. A PeptideBenchmark review, which discloses an affiliate relationship with Alpha Pro, matched 35 reports to lab-hosted copies. It also found a 50mg product page reusing a 30mg certificate, and no sterility or endotoxin reports.
American Peptides leads on COA publication (9.25 vs 8.75). Alpha Pro leads on lab traceability (8.25 vs 7.5). For American Peptides, try confirming a report on Bioviridian's COA search. Our COA guide covers the rest.
Independent testing: a tie at zero
Finnrick lists American Peptides with 0 tests, and we found no Finnrick profile for Alpha Pro Peptides. Both get the floor score (5.0). With two businesses this new, there's little outside evidence either way. See Janoshik vs Finnrick.
Labeling: a tie with different problems
Both have strict terms. Alpha Pro requires buyers to be 21+ and to say they're affiliated with a research institution. American Peptides requires buyers to be 21+ and to attest to in-vitro research use. Both score 7.0 on labeling, for different reasons.
- Alpha Pro Peptides sells GLP-1-class products under codes (GLP-1, GLP-2, GLP-3), plus capsules, sprays and topical serums. Its reconstitution calculator uses insulin-syringe units.
- American Peptides uses health-style names: the ASCEND bundle is a "Metabolic + Glow Up Research Stack," and a dissolving strip is called "Brain-Fuel." It also sells sprays.
FDA has said research-use labels don't protect sellers whose marketing points to human use (background). We cover GLP-1-class products for research use only, with no dosing content.
Business details
American Peptides publishes its LLC name, city and phone number, but no street address (8.5 on our scale). Alpha Pro publishes no address or legal entity; its terms are governed by Florida law, and its FAQ says products ship from US facilities (7.0).
Shipping, payment and returns
- Alpha Pro says orders before 2pm EST ship the same business day (FAQ), while its shipping policy says 24-72 business hours. It ships by USPS, FedEx or UPS, US only, free over $199. It takes major cards except Mastercard, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. There are no returns, damage must be reported within 48 hours, and lost packages aren't its responsibility once with the carrier.
- American Peptides advertises a 2PM EST cutoff, but its policy says 24-48 business hours. Free shipping starts at $300, and it ships to 215 countries. It takes all four major card networks, ACH/wire and crypto. All sales are final, and its terms set a $2,500 liquidated damages fee for chargebacks filed without contacting support first.
