Semaglutide is FDA-approved only as prescription drugs (Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus), and the "research semaglutide" that peptide vendors sell is not those products. Five of the eight vendors we list sold it on October 7, 2026: PSPeptides posted the most complete documentation, and Alpha Pro had the lowest labeled price per mg.
Notice: Research peptides are sold for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not FDA-approved, not for human or animal consumption, and this page is not medical advice.
We list GLP-1-class research compounds when a rated vendor sells them, covering prices and certificates only, never dosing or human-use content. Our criterion: a semaglutide-specific certificate with a named lab and lot beats a generic "third-party tested" claim. We don't test products; we check what each vendor publishes.
FDA status of semaglutide
- Approved products. FDA lists Ozempic injection and Rybelsus tablets as approved for adults with type 2 diabetes, and Wegovy injection for chronic weight management. These are prescription drugs made under FDA oversight.
- Shortage over. FDA said on February 21, 2025 that "the shortage of semaglutide injection products... is resolved." Enforcement discretion for 503A pharmacies has ended; for 503B outsourcing facilities it ran until May 22, 2025.
- Research-labeled sellers. FDA's page on unapproved GLP-1 drugs (current as of October 1, 2026) says it has warned companies that sold semaglutide "falsely labeled 'for research purposes' or 'not for human consumption.'" It also says salt forms such as semaglutide sodium and semaglutide acetate are "different active ingredients" from the approved drugs.
- Swiss Chems. FDA's December 10, 2024 letter to Swisschems named its semaglutide and retatrutide products. Swiss Chems' store returned no semaglutide results on October 7, 2026.
- Code names don't help. FDA's August 24, 2026 letter to Peptide Partners treated a product listed as "GLP-1 S (Semaglutide)" as an unapproved new drug, despite "for research use only" labeling.

Research semaglutide by vendor
Single-vial prices checked October 7, 2026, including any displayed sale price. $/mg is price divided by labeled mg. "With our code" is arithmetic, not a checkout quote. Vendors appear in our editors' order, which isn't sorted by score.
| Vendor | Listing name | Size(s) | Price | $/mg | With our code | Semaglutide COA |
|---|
| American Peptides | SEMA-GLP1 | 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 mg | $60 (5 mg, sold out) | $12.00 | No code | Lots for 5-30 mg; lab not named |
| NextGenPeps | GLP-S | 10 mg | $78 (was $98), out of stock | $7.80 | No code | Bioviridian, Sep 25, 2026, 99.74%; no lot shown |
| PSPeptides | GLP-1 Semaglutide | 10 mg | $64.99 | $6.50 | $58.49 with CHECKED ($5.85/mg) | North American Diagnostics, batch PSP-08222026SM, 99.94%, 9.81 mg |
| Ascension Peptides | S-5 | 5 mg (per COA) | $38 (was $99.99) | $7.60 | $19.00 with AFFILIATE50OFF, first order ($3.80/mg) | MZ Biolabs, lot 04-01260229, 99.98%, 5.20 mg |
| Alpha Pro Peptides | GLP-1 ("Sema") | 5, 10, 20 mg | $41.99 / $54.99 / $59.99-$71.99 | $8.40 / $5.50 / $3.00-$3.60 | No code | Freedom Diagnostics, lot AP-SM10-0426, 99.90%, 12.17 mg (10 mg) |
Not in the table: Peptide Plugs had no semaglutide or GLP-1 product in its catalog, Licensed Peptides returned no semaglutide result in a site search (its metabolic category lists code-named LP2-T and LP3-R, which it doesn't explain), and Swiss Chems returned no semaglutide products.
Notes on each vendor
- American Peptides: the SEMA-GLP1 page names semaglutide and lists 5 to 50 mg sizes, but only the 5 mg price ($60, sold out) was visible. Its COA page lists lots SEMA5-0803, SEMA10-0616, SEMA20-0528 and SEMA30-0803, with no lab named and no 50 mg certificate. We couldn't read the PDF text. It's our overall #1 pick (9.1/10), but for semaglutide its documentation trails the others. Review
- NextGenPeps: the GLP-S page FAQ says "GLP-1S is the name used for the medication semaglutide." It lists a molecular weight (5113.64 Da) that doesn't fit its own formula, and its description includes outcome language that reads like therapeutic claims. The COA library shows a September 25, 2026 Bioviridian entry and a February 2026 Bioregen report whose file is named semaglutide; neither shows a lot. Review
- PSPeptides: the product page links a certificate by HPLC with mass spectrometry (ordered August 28, 2026), plus heavy metals, endotoxin, sterility and fentanyl reports for the same test ID. The page also quotes human trial doses and syringe math, which we count against it. Review
- Ascension Peptides: the S-5 page doesn't name the compound, but its linked MZ Biolabs certificate names semaglutide, 5 mg, analyzed February 24, 2026. A newer Kovera Labs entry (June 26, 2026) had no working download link. We couldn't confirm whether AFFILIATE50OFF applies to the sale price. Review
- Alpha Pro Peptides: the 10 mg page labels the product "GLP-1-S - Sema" and links a Freedom Diagnostics certificate reported May 18, 2026. It measured 12.17 mg against a 10 mg label, about 22% over. The 20 mg page showed $59.99 and a certificate for lot AP-SM20-0426 (20.93 mg), while the shop listing showed $71.99. The 10 mg page advertised "Buy 1 Get 1 Free." Review
Independent test data
Finnrick's semaglutide page covers 71 vendors with tests from December 2024 to September 2026, but only the top 20 are public, and none of our listed vendors appear there. Its Ascension profile shows no published tests. Every certificate above was commissioned by the vendor. More: what is Finnrick?
How to check a semaglutide COA
- Confirm the compound. With code-named listings, the certificate should name semaglutide and confirm identity by mass spectrometry.
- Match the lot and size. American Peptides has no 50 mg certificate, and Ascension's newest entry has no file.
- Compare measured content to the label. Alpha Pro's 10 mg lot measured 12.17 mg; PSPeptides' measured 9.81 mg.
- Look for a safety panel. Only PSPeptides linked endotoxin, sterility and heavy metals reports for semaglutide.

Bottom line
For research semaglutide, PSPeptides has the fullest paper trail: a named lab, a batch number, a measured amount and a safety panel, though its page quotes human trial doses. Alpha Pro is cheapest per mg and names its lab, but its 10 mg lot ran well over label. Ascension's first-order code gives the lowest possible price, if it applies to the sale price. None of these are the approved drugs, and FDA has warned sellers of research-labeled semaglutide. For the full ranking, see the best peptide vendors in the USA.
